Supporting the theory that humans come in Four distinct patterns, is over 25 centuries of studies of human behavior as far back as Hippocrates. Many theories have been put forth, but one that has lasted the course is the theory of temperament – Four styles that is – a simple model for understanding humans – try as we might it’s hard to shake off DNA – our Darned Natural Ability – the hard wired patterns that determine who we are and how we behave. I use the Four Colour Model (True Colors and Personality Dimensions) – simple models that explain why we behave the way we do.
Now before anyone gets in a knot about being ‘pigeon holed’ or ‘boxed in’, it’s not about that! Relax! Discovering what your natural temperament is helps you to figure out why you keep repeating the same patterns – and why your weird Aunt Jean is the way she is. Temperament gives us a tool to unlock our hidden talents and to appreciate the talents and differences in others. By the way – we are all a blend of the four Styles – making it all the more necessary not to judge others. Our temperament patterns are just a preference or way of being.
